World Day of Prayer for Vocations
The World Day of Prayer for Vocations is on Sunday 11 May. We pray especially for Gerard Holden and Matthew McCafferty who are seminarians of the Archdiocese. We also keep in our prayers [your parish priest] and all priests and religious in the Archdiocese who dedicate their lives to serving God and His people. A second collection will take place for Ecclesiastical Students at all Masses on Sunday 11 May which helps cover tuition fees and living costs for our seminarians. Children’s Liturgy Workshop (new date)
Join the Catechetics Commission for the second Children’s Liturgy (CL) Catechist Workshop. The morning will begin with Mass and include a presentation on music & art and a time of discussion. It takes place on Saturday 17 May 2025 9:30am – 12:00pm at The Gillis Centre 100 Strathearn Rd EH9 1BB. Register at bit.ly/childrensliturgy2.

Mass for married and engaged couples
The annual Archdiocesan Mass for Married Couples (and those preparing for marriage) takes place at 7:15pm on Tuesday 27 May at St Mary’s Cathedral. Please join us for this special occasion when we celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage. Archbishop Cushley will be the principal celebrant and will give a blessing to couples.

Annual Parish BBQ & Quiz
This will take place on 30th May at St. Cuthbert’s Church Hall. Great food and fun to be had with a quiz, bingo and a raffle. Tickets on sale from Sunday 4th May. All profits go towards our 2 chosen charities of FACE (Fight against Cancer Edinburgh) and the St. Jude’s Catholic school project in Nigeria. Come along and join the fun and help us fund raise.

Columba Trust
The Columba Trust provides funding to organisations and individuals for projects which support the practice of the Roman Catholic faith, its ministry and values. The deadline for applications this year is 30 June 2025. Further details about the Trust and how to apply for a grant can be found at https://columbatrust.org.uk/

Mass Bookings. We are reminded that the booking of mass for our special intentions, wedding anniversaries, Birthday thanksgiving, Death anniversaries of our loved ones and general prayers is highly recommended. The mass stipends (Donations) are part of our contribution towards the good of the church and support of our priest.
Sunday Morning Tea & Coffee. The Parish ‘Sunday morning’s Tea & coffee’ is on every Sunday immediately after the 9.30am mass. The proceeds from these activities are geared towards the charity support run by our parish. Come one, Come all!

Parish Charities News: A huge thank you to all who have attended breakfasts and social evenings since March 2024. Three groups have raised a total of £5,562.13. This will be split between Fight Against Cancer Edinburgh and the Nigerian School (St. Jude’s Catholic School, Ezza-Ojianya, Abakiliki). One of the Breakfast Groups raised £890 which has gone to Mary’s Meals another excellent charity. Making a grand total of £6452.26. Once again thank you for helping these three charities.
Health and Safety Committee. The next meeting of the Health and Safety Committee will be held on Wednesday 21st May 2025, at 7pm in the Church House. If you have some spare time and would be interested in joining a group please come along to the meeting – no experience is necessary. Alternatively speak to Mary Mulligan for further information.

May Devotion to Our Lady. The month of May is a special month here in our parish, traditionally, we bring our flowers every Sunday for the decoration of our lady’s altar and we would usually sing our special hymns in honour of our Lady. So from next week, let us bring our flowers.
CALL TO GLORY: The late Patricia Donaldson. Let us also pray for the happy repose of the soul of the Late Patricia (PAT) Donaldson who has just recently passed onto glory. Her funeral will be on the Tuesday, 6th of May at 11am. May her soul rest in peace, Amen.
