The Holy See has asked for a second consultation on marriage and the family before the forthcoming synod ‘The Vocation and Mission of the Family in the Church and Contemporary World’ (4 – 25 October 2015). The questionnaire for the synod is available on the front page of the Archdiocesan website. Please publicise the consultation as widely as possible in your parishes. Each respondent to the consultation can save, complete and return the form by email attachment. Respondents can be individuals or parishes or groups. If respondents do not have access to email or the internet, they should call the Gillis Centre on 0131 623 8912 and a hard copy will be arranged. Mrs Sally McElroy email@example.com is also available for help and advice on the consultation. We have only recently received the questionnaire and the Holy See has asked for the collated results from all of the Dioceses in the country to be returned to Rome by 15 April. Therefore. the closing date for submissions from our own Archdiocese is Friday 13 March 2015.
With every best wish and
blessing to you, your families and
all those who are dear to you
‘Tell the children about God and His Saints.
During the holy time of Lent,
Speak to them of their suffering Saviour.
During Paschal time, of his glorious Resurrection.
During Christmas time, of His Birth.
You will see what a profound impression it will make on the minds of your children.’
(St. John Vianney)
