Today is the first Sunday of May, the month traditionally associated with Our Lady in the life of the Church.  As in the past couple of years, flowers would be welcomed to create a shrine around the statue of Our Lady.  These will be gathered at the start of Mass by children present.  Please feel free to bring a single flower or a bunch.

Today: The new Altar Servers’ Rota is ready for collection so all Altar Servers should come to the sacristy after Mass and collect their copy.  It comes into effect very soon.

Today: Next Fresh Start food collection will take place. There are copies of the lists available at the back of the Church indicating what they need.

Sunday: Bacon Rolls etc available in the Hall after Mass with the Fair Trade group in charge.  All welcome.

Monday: Father Geoff Wheaton S.J. will give the first of four presentations on the various images of Jesus and their basis in the New Testament and how artists from the Catacombs to the present day have interpreted Jesus. It is at 7.30 p.m. in the Lauriston Centre.  All welcome.

Thursday: Please remember in your prayers Conal Carsewell and Silvia Dohálour who are being married in the Church at 1.00 p.m.  May the Lord bless them and watch over them all the days of their married life.

Next Saturday/Sunday is the World day of Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life.  There will be a retiral collection at both Masses for the Ecclesiastical Students’ Fund which helps support the students from our Diocese currently studying for the priesthood.

Diary Dates:

14th May: Meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council in the house at 7.00 p.m.  All Councillors please make every effort to be present.

A Letter of Thanks and a card was received a few weeks back from the Scottish Prison Service.  My apologies for not displaying it before now but it is on the notice board at the back of the Church along with a card from the Prison Governor.

With every best wish and blessing to you,

your families

and all those who are dear to you

Monsignor Tony.
