Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week. On Sunday morning the Palms will be blessed and distributed at the 10.00 a.m. Mass. Hopefully as many as possible will take as full a part as possible in the various Masses and services in the course of this week.

Sunday: ‘Who is this?’ – a gathering for 16-30 year olds at the Gillis Centre from 2.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. Fuller details are on the poster in the porch. Sunday: Stations of the Cross and Benediction at 4.00 p.m. This provides another opportunity for some time in prayer during the Lenten season. Holy Week

Monday 15th April: Mass at 9.00 a.m.

Service of Reconciliation with opportunity for individual confession, absolution and penance at 7.00 p.m. There will be at least five priests available, other than myself.

Tuesday 16th April: Mass at 9.00 a.m.

Chrism Mass in the Cathedral at 7.00 p.m. During this Mass, the sacred oils used in the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Ordination and the Sacrament of the Sick are blessed and the priests present renew their ordination promises. All welcome.

Wednesday 17th April: Mass at 7.00 p.m. Following on the success of the Christmas Big Clean Up there will be an Easter Big Clean up after this Mass. Maybe that last little penance for Lent?

Thursday 18th April: Holy Thursday.

No Mass in the Morning.

Mass of the Last Supper at 7.00 p.m., followed by watching at the Altar of Repose until Night Prayer of the Church at 10.00 p.m. We need at least two people to be present for the watching to ensure the Blessed Sacrament is never left unattended. Please indicate on the list at the back of the Church if you intend to be present.

Friday 19th April: Good Friday. A Day of Fasting and Abstinence Solemn Liturgy with Veneration of the Cross and Holy Communion at 3.00 p.m. Stations of the Cross & Veneration of the Cross 7.00 p.m. Holy Communion is NOT distributed at this Service

Saturday 20th April: No Mass in the Morning. Morning Prayer of the Church at 9.30 a.m. (In accordance with the ancient tradition of the Church, confessions will not be heard today)

No 6.00 p.m. Vigil Mass

Vigil of the Resurrection and First Mass of Easter at 9.00 p.m. Refreshments will be served in the Hall afterwards.

Sunday 21st April: Easter Sunday. Mass at 10.00 a.m. Refreshments will be served in the hall afterwards.

Diary Dates:

27th April: ‘How to grow your Parish’ – an information day on Adult Formation Courses and Resources at the Gillis Centre from 11.00 a.m. –until Mass at 2.30 p.m. Early Booking is essential since there is limited space available. Fuller details are on the poster in the Porch.

1st May: A Celebration of Marriage: Father Jeremy Milne VE and the Marriage & Family Commission have organised a special event to celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. It will take place on the Feast of St Joseph the Worker, at St Mary’s Cathedral in Edinburgh at 7.30 p.m. Holy Mass will be offered for all the married couples of the Archdiocese who are, of course, invited to attend and receive a blessing. A celebratory reception will follow. All married couple are welcome especially those celebrating a significant anniversary. …………………………………………………………………………………
