Today as we move into the new liturgical year and begin the season of Advent there will be various opportunities for the Advent season this year but especially for the children the Children’s Liturgy team have generously agreed to present the liturgy every Sunday with an additional twist. Hopefully the children, persuaded by their parents, will come along and take part in this. There is a list at the back of the Church for children to sign up on if they wish to be involved.

We will also begin collecting gifts for the children of prisoners. Please wrap any gifts you make and mark the age and whether for a boy or girl on a label.

There will also be an evening Mass on Tuesday in place of the morning Mass so that those who cannot come in the morning have the opportunity to come.

Today: The new Altar Servers’ Rota and the new Readers’ Rota are ready for collection in the Sacristy after Mass. They come into effect next weekend

Today: Notes from the recent Cluster Meeting are available for collection from the Passkeepers in advance of the third meeting on December 8th in St. John Ogilvie’s

Monday: The Gaze and the GloryAn Evening of Prayer for Advent with Sister Magdalen Lawler SND and Father Tom McGuinness SJ. This evening in the first week of Advent will be an opportunity to prepare for Christmas in a prayerful setting. There will be reflective images of Advent Icons for prayer, with scripture and poetry. The evening will include some time to share and times of quiet. It will take place in the Lauriston Centre from 7.30 p.m. – 9.00 p.m.

Saturday: St. Cuthbert’s Primary School will be holding their Christmas Fair in the school from 10.30 a.m. – 1.00 p.m. Fuller details of what is available are on the poster in the porch. Why not go along and support their efforts.

With every best wish and Blessing

To you, your families

And those who are dear to you

Monsignor Tony

O Wisdom,

you come forth from the most high,

You fill the universe and hold all things together

In a strong and gentle manner.

O come,

To teach us the way of truth.
