Sunday: The Coffee Morning takes place after Mass with the Ladies Group group running it this week. All welcome round to the Hall for bacon rolls etc

Thursday: The annual Community Mass for teachers, non teaching staff and retired teachers will take place in St. Catharine’s Convent at 7.30 p.m. All are very welcome. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

Friday: The staff and pupils of the primary school are supporting the Macmillan Coffee Morning. It will be a non-uniform day with the opportunity for coffees, some home baking. All welcome between 9.30 a.m. and 11.00 a.m.

Next Sunday: Archbishop Cushley will be celebrating a Mass of Thanksgiving at 11.30 a.m. in Our Lady’s in Currie to mark the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the church. You are welcome to go along

Next Sunday: The annual pilgrimage to pray for the beatification of Venerable Margaret Sinclair will take place at St Patrick’s in Edinburgh’s Cowgate from 2.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. . The day will begin at 2.00 p.m.  with a Holy Hour followed by a performance of the play, The Margaret Sinclair Story, recently performed at the Edinburgh Festival. Mass is at 4.30 p.m. with Archbishop Cushley as principal celebrant. Please bring your own refreshments. All are very welcome.

 

Diary Dates:

30th September: The Beginning Experience are holding a residential weekend for those who find themselves alone again through widowhood, separation or divorce. It will take place at the Conforti Centre in Coatbridge. For further details please contact Ros on 0131.669.0003 or by email at rcm2524@yahoo.co.uk.

3rd October: Meeting of all parents wishing to present their child for First Reconciliation in the course of the current school year. The children should be in P3 or above. It is at 6.30 p.m. in the Church Hall and it is important that parents be present. The children do not need to be there. If you have not obtained and completed the appropriate form either from the school or the sacristy please do so before this meeting which will be the last opportunity to register your child for the current session.

It is at 7.30 p.m. in the Church Hall and it is important that parents be present. The children do not need to be there. If you have not obtained and completed the appropriate form either from the school or the sacristy please do so before this meeting which will be the last opportunity to register your child for the current session.

5th October: The St. Augustine’s Open Meeting for parents of children in current P6 or P7 classes will take place from 4.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m.After an introduction by the Head Teacher, parents will be able to see round the school, visit various departments and speak to members of staff and senior pupils.

 

Sacramental Preparation: Parents of children who do not attend St. Cuthbert’s Primary who wish their children to be presented for First Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Communion must register their child as soon as possible but no later than today. There will be a parents’ meeting to explain what is involved in presenting their child and the work they will have to do with their children. Registration forms are available in the Sacristy.  Children who have not been registered by this date will have to wait until next year to be presented.

 

The Card Stall has the October edition of ‘Day by Day’ ready for sale or collection. There are also a few copies of the September edition of ‘Living Faith’ available.

 

Many thanks to those parishioners who came along to the First Cluster meeting on Thursday night. The discussion outcomes will be collated and issued in due course but prior to the next gathering on November 3rd in St. Joseph’s.
