Today: Altar Servers who have not yet managed please come to the sacristy after Mass.

Today: The new boxes of Gift Aid Envelopes are available in the sacristy after Mass. They come into effect today.  Please do not continue to use existing envelopes which should be destroyed.  There are sets also for those who use standing orders to make their contribution. Please don’t leave it until the last minute to collect your set.

Non gift aid envelopes are available after Mass in the Sacristy.

If you have taken a box number 95 would you please return this as soon as you can and do not use these envelopes. Many thanks.

Today: There is a letter from the Bishops of Scotland concerning the forthcoming Scottish Parliamentary election. Please make sure you receive a copy as you leave Mass.

Sunday: The Coffee Morning will take place in the Hall after Mass, organised by the Noisy Nutters group.. Bacon rolls etc will be available.

Saturday: Family Ceilidh in St. Cuthbert’s Hall to help raise funds towards the cost of the young people from Our Lady’s who are travelling to Lourdes in the summer to work as volunteers with the Archdiocesan Pilgrimage. Tickets will be on sale after Mass, priced £4.00 for adults. Children (up to 16) go free. It is a BYOB night.

Next Saturday/Sunday is the World day of Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood and the Religious Life. There will be a retiral collection after both Masses for the Ecclesiastical Students’ Fund which goes towards the costs of training our students in the seminary.

 

Diary Dates:

19th April: Meeting of Parish Finance and Fabric group in the house at 7.00 p.m.

24th April: Ceremony of Presentation of The Creed and the Our Father to the children preparing for their Confirmation and First Communion during the 10.00 a.m. Mass. Parents of these children involved should make every effort to be present along with their children.

20th – 21st May: St. Joseph’s Sighthill are hosting the Choir of Notre Dame University from America. Part of their schedule includes a workshop on music for use at Mass.  If you are interested in attending this you need to pre register by 31st March at douglasbruce@blueyonder.co.uk.  Fuller details are on the poster in the porch.

8th – 15th July: The annual Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, led by Archbishop Cushley, will take place. Booking is now open and I have some forms and information if you are interested. I have a limited supply in the sacristy. You can also contact the travel agents direct at Tangney Tours, Pilgrim House, Station Court, Borough Green, Kent TN15 8AF (Tel. 01732.886666 or email to info@tangney-tours.com).  Booking for the Saint-Frai Centre must be done through the Hospital Booking Secretary, 61 Hailes Gardens, Edinburgh EH13 0JN – Tel 0131.441.1939.

16th – 23rd November: The Archbishop will lead a pilgrimage to Rome for the Year of Mercy.  The pilgrimage will coincide with the ceremonies led by the Pope for the closing of the Holy Door and it will be a unique time to visit the Eternal City. The cost is £620.00 plus flights plus single room supplement. This includes half board, airport transfers, 2 full day trips and 1 half day trip.
