Today is the World day of Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood and the Religious Life. There will be a retiral collection after both Masses for the Ecclesiastical Students’ Fund which goes towards the costs of training our students in the seminary.

Today:  Please collect a copy of the booklet ‘Cluster Parishes Together Handbook.’ This is the booklet which will be used in the next stage of the debate and discussion on the way forward for the Archdiocese.  Please read it carefully.  In due course meeting dates and venues will be notified.

Today: The new boxes of Gift Aid Envelopes are available in the sacristy after Mass. They have come into effect.  Please do not continue to use existing envelopes which should be destroyed.  There are sets also for those who use standing orders to make their contribution. Please don’t leave it until the last minute to collect your set.

Non gift aid envelopes are available after Mass in the Sacristy.

Sunday: The Coffee Morning will take place in the Hall after Mass, organised by the Vocations Group.  Bacon rolls etc will be available.

The monthly draw for the 200 Club will also take place.

Tuesday: Meeting of Parish Finance and Fabric group will take place in the house at 7.00 p.m.

Next Saturday/Sunday: The annual Deanery appeal for support from the Missionary orders will take place. A Mill Hill Father will be here and will speak at Mass, asking for your support in prayer and in kind.

Next Sunday: Ceremony of Presentation of The Creed and the Our Father to the children preparing for their Confirmation and First Communion during the 10.00 a.m. Mass. Parents of these children involved should make every effort to be present along with their children.

 

Diary Dates:

20th – 21st May: St. Joseph’s Sighthill are hosting the Choir of Notre Dame University from America. Part of their schedule includes a workshop on music for use at Mass.  If you are interested in attending this you need to pre register by 31st March at douglasbruce@blueyonder.co.uk.  Fuller details are on the poster in the porch.

8th – 15th July: The annual Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, led by Archbishop Cushley, will take place. Booking is now open and I have some forms and information if you are interested. I have a limited supply in the sacristy. 16th – 23rd November: The Archbishop will lead a pilgrimage to Rome for the Year of Mercy.  The pilgrimage will coincide with the ceremonies led by the Pope for the closing of the Holy Door and it will be a unique time to visit the Eternal City. The cost is £620.00 plus flights plus single room supplement. This includes half board, airport transfers, 2 full day trips and 1 half day trip.
