Today: The annual Deanery appeal for support from the Missionary orders will take place. Father Matthew Greer, a Mill Hill Father will be here and will speak at Mass, asking for your support in prayer and in kind by way of the retiral collection as you leave mass.

Today: If you have not already done so, please collect a copy of the booklet ‘Cluster Parishes Together Handbook.’ This is the booklet which will be used in the next stage of the debate and discussion on the way forward for the Archdiocese.  Please read it carefully.  In due course meeting dates and venues will be notified.

Today: The new boxes of Gift Aid Envelopes are available in the sacristy after Mass. They have come into effect.  Please do not continue to use existing envelopes which should be destroyed.

Sunday: Ceremony of Presentation of The Creed and the Our Father to the children preparing for their Confirmation and First Communion during the 10.00 a.m. Mass. Parents of these children involved should make every effort to be present along with their children.

Sunday: The Coffee Morning will take place in the Hall after Mass, organised by the Ladies Group.  Bacon rolls etc will be available.

Next Saturday/Sunday On Sunday 3rd April in St Peter’s Square the Holy Father spoke about the terrible situation in Ukraine and asked for all Catholic Churches in Europe to take up a collection to help alleviate the suffering there.  The Holy Father asked that the collection be taken up on 24th April, the 5th Sunday of Easter but due to late notification to us we cannot do it this weekend. It will be taken up next weekend at the end of Mass. There is a letter giving more detail being given out as you leave Mass.


Diary Dates:

20th – 21st May: St. Joseph’s Sighthill are hosting the Choir of Notre Dame University from America. Part of their schedule includes a workshop on music for use at Mass.  If you are interested in attending this you need to pre register by 31st March at douglasbruce@blueyonder.co.uk.  Fuller details are on the poster in the porch.

8th – 15th July: The annual Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, led by Archbishop Cushley, will take place. Booking is now open and I have some forms and information if you are interested. I have a limited supply in the sacristy. You can also contact the travel agents direct at Tangney Tours, Pilgrim House, Station Court, Borough Green, Kent TN15 8AF (Tel. 01732.886666 or email to info@tangney-tours.com).  Booking for the Saint-Frai Centre must be done through the Hospital Booking Secretary, 61 Hailes Gardens, Edinburgh EH13 0JN – Tel 0131.441.1939.

16th – 23rd November: The Archbishop will lead a pilgrimage to Rome for the Year of Mercy.  The pilgrimage will coincide with the ceremonies led by the Pope for the closing of the Holy Door and it will be a unique time to visit the Eternal City. The cost is £620.00 plus flights plus single room supplement. This includes half board, airport transfers, 2 full day trips and 1 half day trip. Many thanks to all who came along and supported the Ceilidh last weekend and those who organised it. £765.00 was raised towards the costs of the young people travelling to Lourdes.
