Today: The new Altar Servers’ Rota is ready for collection from the sacristy after Mass.  Please collect it today since it came into effect on 6/7th June.

Today: Please take a copy home of the notes from the recent Parish meeting about the re-structuring process initiated by Archbishop Cushley. If you wish, the reverse side provides an opportunity for you to complete a SWOT response to the proposed plan and return in due course. They will become part of any response being made to the Archbishop when he comes to meet the clusters. There is a box at the back of the Church should you wish to return your replies. They do not need to be signed. SWOT = Strengths; Weaknesses; Opportunities and Threats.

Today: Congratulations to those who completed the Sponsored Walk in aid of Parish Project Fund recently and those who walked even further than they needed to ! Any monies due should be returned as quickly as possible please.

Sunday: Celebration of First Communion during the 10.00 a.m. Mass for the children of St. Cuthbert’s. We welcome Gigi, Jacqueline, Julia, Blessing, Nevan, Ollie, Egan, Paolo, Hamish, Macaulay, Igor and their families. Seats will be reserved in the centre of the Church for the children and their families. Refreshments will be available in the Hall afterwards.

Sunday: There will be a special Mass in the Cathedral at 3.00 p.m. to mark the 50th Anniversary of SCIAF.  The organisers say “This is an opportunity for us to thank you and your parishioners for being part of SCIAF’s history and for your support over the years. Together, we’ve touched the lives of millions of people around the world.  We’d also like to share Pope Francis’ 50th Anniversary message to SCIAF with you and join with you in prayer for our brothers and sisters overseas.

After Mass there will be a reception in St Mary’s Parish Hall. Please join us for tea and coffee and explore our SCIAF Story exhibition sharing stories and photos of some of the life-changing work you’ve helped us achieve over the last 50 years.” If you intend going please advise Andrew Forsyth 0141 354 5555 or aforsyth@sciaf.org.uk

Next Saturday/Sunday:  Summer Clothes Bank Uplift. We are looking for any unwanted clothing/paired shoes, belts, bags and soft toys for our Summer Clothes Bank collection in June. All donations will be weighed and we will receive 50p per kilo (approx. £5 per black bag). Bags can be handed in after evening Mass on 20th June or on the morning of 21st June. All proceeds will go to the Parish Project.

 

Diary Dates:

27th June: Annual Barbeque & Quiz Night after the evening Mass.  Tickets will be on sale from next weekend, priced £7.00 and £3.00 with all proceeds going to the Parish project.

28th June: The Parish of St. Margaret’s in Dunfermline will play host to a revitalised and new summer pilgrimage in honour of St Margaret of Scotland. The day’s events will include:

12 noon onwards: Pilgrims can explore the numerous holy sites associated with St Margaret throughout Dunfermline using the Pilgrim Guide Booklet.

12 noon to 2.45 pm: SCIAF Family activity in St Margaret’s Church Hall.

3.00 pm Procession with relics from Pittencrieff Park to St Margaret’s Church

4.00 pm Holy Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Leo Cushley

30th June – 4th July:  ‘Setting out on the Road’ – an introductory course on teaching Religious Education in Catholic schools, leading to an award of a certificate by the Scottish Catholic Education Service recognised by the Catholic Bishops of Scotland. Further details can be found on the notice board.

10th July: The Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes leaves.  If you wish to have petitions taken there will be a box at the back of the Church into which you can put them.  Please put them in a sealed envelope.  Please do not put any money in the envelopes.
