Sunday: The Tea/Coffee Morning takes place in the Hall after Mass. This week the Ladies Group will be in charge.  Why not pop round after Mass for teas/coffee bacon rolls etc and also the chance to meet fellow parishioners?

Sunday: Why not come along at 2.00 p.m. for afternoon tea in the Church Hall to raise funds for the parish project. An afternoon of sumptuous sandwiches, teas, coffee, cake, sweet treats and lots of fun promised. Tickets £8.00 are now available.

Monday: Meeting of Parish Pastoral Council at 7.00 p.m. in the Church House.

Saturday: The Little Sisters of the Poor are holding their annual Christmas Fair in St. Joseph’s in Gilmore place from 2.00 p.m. – 4.00 p.m. Full details are on the poster in the porch.

 

Diary Dates:

4th November: St. Cuthbert’s School Open Day from 10.00 a.m. – 12 noon and from 1.45 p.m. – 2.45 p.m.  If you are new to the area and are looking for a school for your child then come along to visit.  A warm welcome awaits you and your child at your local small and friendly neighbourhood school.

10th November: Was your child born between 28th February 2011 and 29th February 2012 ? Do you live within the school’s catchment area? Then your child is eligible for enrolment for the Primary 1 intake in August 2016. Times available are between 9.30 a.m. and 12 noon and between 2.00 p.m. – 3.00 p.m.

12th November: There is a further opportunity for enrolling your child between 9.30 a.m. and 12 noon.

18th November: “The Church Here and Now” is a series of four talks being hosted by the Newman Association, with speakers and dates as follows below. All are from 7.30 p.m. – 9.30 p.m. in St. Catharine’s Convent in Lauriston Gardens. The third session is entitled “The Church Here and Now – with Archbishop Leo Cushley as the speaker. All welcome

22nd July – 3rd August 2016: The World Youth Day takes place in Krakow in Poland. The Archdiocese has a limited number of places (35) available for young adults.  Full details are on the poster in the porch.

 

The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SSVP) is a voluntary charity whose aim is to tackle poverty in all its forms through the provision of practical assistance to those in need. There is now a combined conference covering St. Cuthbert’s, Our Lady’s and St. Mary’s, Ratho. Readers please note that next weekend the readings at the Vigil Mass and the Sunday morning Mass are for November 1st – the Feast of All Saints and not for the 31st Ordinary Sunday of the Year.

 

Congratulations and best wishes to Mrs. Lorraine Lawrie who has been appointed as Head Teacher of St. Cuthbert’s Primary School following on the retirement of Mrs. Catriona Taylor. We look forward to working with her to build on the existing good relationship between the Parish and the School.
