Today: The new packs of envelopes for those who gift aid their offertory collection will be available in the sacristy after Mass.  They come into effect today.  Please do not use old envelopes.  Please collect your new set from the sacristy.

Do you pay income tax ?  Would you consider gift aiding your contribution if you do not already do so ?  Last year the parish benefitted by £8239.04 in the tax refunded from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.  You don’t need to give any more than you give already.  Why not think about it and then get the necessary form before the new tax year begins.

Envelopes will also be available for those who wish to use them but do not Gift Aid their contributions.  Please come to the sacristy after Mass if you want to collect a set.

Monday: The schools return after their Easter break.  We pray for God’s blessings on all the staff and pupils and especially for those who will be preparing for and sitting very important exams in the course of this session.

Tuesday: Mass for Vocations will be celebrated in the Little Sisters of the Poor, St Joseph’s House, 43 Gilmore Place,  Edinburgh  EH3 9NG. Parking within the grounds is available and refreshments are served afterwards.  All welcome.

Tuesday: Meeting of Parish Pastoral Council at 7.00 p.m. in the house. Agenda is available in the sacristy after Mass.

Thursday: Tea, coffee biscuits will be available in the house after 9.00 a.m. Mass.  All welcome.

Thursday: Meeting of parents of P4 children preparing for Confirmation and First Communion. This will be to prepare the ‘Do This in memory of Me’ for the coming weekend at the 6.00 p.m. Vigil Mass.

Next Sunday: Children’s Liturgy resumes during the 10.00 a.m. Mass.  It is not a crèche or a babysitting service but is an opportunity for children aged from P1 – P7 to worship and pray together the Liturgy of the Word from the Sunday Mass.  It will take place fortnightly.

Over  the past months small bronze coins and the occasional silver ones have been collected with the proceeds going to the Parish Project.  This collecting is starting up again either via the Card Stall or at the Thursday morning Coffee Morning.  The proceeds will again go the Parish Project once a new one has been chosen.

If you have any suggestions for a new project, either abroad, in the U.K. or here in the City please let me know so that a considered choice can be made. The only thing to remember is that the project wherever it is must be approved and registered.

With every best wish and Easter blessing to you,

your families

and all those who are dear to you.

Monsignor Tony.
